ATTENTION: WORLD LANGUAGE TEACHERS!
The 2019 World Language Standards introduce a very different approach to instruction focused primarily on language proficiency. To help teachers who are not accustomed to working with proficiency at the forefront of their unit planning, Jill Woerner, active practitioner and former IDOE World Language Specialist, will present two workshops this spring at the East Central ESC in Connersville. Teachers may register for either workshop separately or for both as a series. Discount pricing is offered for the series.
On February 25, Jill will present an overview of the 2019 IN World Language Standards and share lesson ideas, apps, and activities that teachers can implement immediately in their classrooms.
On April 16, Jill will work through questions, challenges, and freedoms that the new standards present for teachers. Participants will develop units using the backwards design process and incorporating the 5 Cs: Communication, Cultures, Connections, Comparisons, and Communities.
