Last week, education leaders from across the country, including our own Jo Ann McCowan, along with leadership from four of our member districts, Monroe Central, Randolph Eastern, Randolph Central, and Eastern Hancock, gathered in Chicago as part of the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and XQ Future of High School Network to explore innovative approaches to student learning and success.

Through Jo Ann’s leadership, we're proud to help advance the RAZ-32 initiative across our region. Through her efforts, East Central Indiana schools are engaged in important conversations about innovative pathways, competency-based learning, and how to ensure students can demonstrate their knowledge and skills in meaningful ways.

Stories like those highlighted by the Carnegie Foundation reinforce the value of challenging traditional models and creating new opportunities for students to thrive after graduation.

We appreciate Jo Ann's commitment to helping schools think differently, innovate boldly, and prepare students for success in college, careers, and life.

School leaders from across the state recently gathered for Student Data Privacy & Registry 2.0 Training. During the event, the SDPC Indiana Alliance was launched, onboarding more than 40 districts to Registry 2.0 and expanding access to valuable privacy resources and support. The SDPC Indiana Alliance is a free benefit available to all Indiana ESC member districts, helping schools strengthen data privacy practices while simplifying compliance efforts.

We were proud to have Ben Burris in attendance alongside several East Central Indiana member districts, representing our region in this important work.

Thank you to CIESC for hosting and to Darlene Kennedy and Jenna Cooper for their leadership in launching this exciting new initiative.

Dozens of Indiana schools are already registered for the Student Data Privacy & Registry 2.0 Training on June 22.

This training will help school leaders stay informed on evolving student data privacy requirements and Registry 2.0 updates. It's not too late to register! Registrations are being accepted through the end of the day on Tuesday.

This new consortium is free to all ESC members, and this training opportunity will be hosted at CIESC.
