ECESC’s Lindsey Lovern presented during yesterday’s PIVOT conference, sharing ”The One Where You See the Future: Connecting Student Interests to Future Careers.” This presentation focused on career exploration through the RIASEC themes. Great information for IN educators!

The Indiana University East School of Education is still accepting new students for the 2024-2025 NLPS Pathway - Tomorrow’s Teachers Today (T3). T3 is taught by IU East faculty. Each week, students work independently or with their T3 classmates through Canvas lectures, readings, activities, and assignments. The IU East T3 instructors will have a Zoom from 8:45 AM – 9:30 AM on both Thursday and Friday. Students are required to attend only one of these Zoom sessions each week, choosing which day best fits into their school schedule. Each T3 class is paired with a classroom experience within the school district so students can observe and practice what they are learning in their T3 class, providing an immersive career exploratory experience for the student. T3 students earn up to 12 college credits for the four education courses IU East offers within the NLPS pathway, counting directly towards a BS in Elementary or Secondary Education. ECESC partnered with ESC of I and IDOE to create the Future Focused Learning Series courses. They are now available on the Learning Lab. Check out the course list here: https://inlearninglab.com/collections/2023-future-focused-indiana-academic-standards-courses

Our VR Career Exploration Experience continues. Next, we are highlighting education careers. Today, we tagged along with New Castle Middle School camp students as they visited the New Castle Career Center.

Congratulations to all of the 2024 graduates in our member districts!

Check out this sneak peek of a new Career Exploration VR tour. Lindsey, an ECESC Instructional Specialist, visited a local manufacturer and saw many amazing jobs in action. We can’t wait for students to experience the final result in VR and begin dreaming about their futures!
