ECESC facilitates the East Central Indiana Natural Gas Consortium, through which 51 school districts purchase natural gas collectively, leveraging wholesale buying power and price-risk management strategies to help stabilize costs and reduce budget pressure.
By joining the consortium, districts benefit from volumetric savings and diversified purchasing approaches that help manage market volatility and protect school budgets. If your district is seeing significant increases in energy bills, now is the time to explore cooperative purchasing.
You know ECESC provides high-quality professional learning for educators, but did you know we also support school support staff?
Today, we hosted a statewide school nurse collaboration bringing nurses together to learn, share best practices, and strengthen the support they provide to students across Indiana.
We’re grateful for the excellent presentations and for Cindy McKinney from Region 8 for facilitating a great day of learning and collaboration!

Last week, Dr. Wilson wrapped up sessions covering our “Building Resilient Students and Schools” modules with Daleville educators. Participants collaborated to share trauma-informed strategies and strengthen tiered supports within their behavioral MTSS framework. This work is critical to supporting students’ social, emotional, and behavioral success!
March is Women’s History Month, and we are proud to recognize the outstanding leadership of the five female superintendents currently serving in our member districts. Their vision, dedication, and commitment to students continue to shape strong schools. We celebrate their achievements and the meaningful impact they have every day for students, staff, and communities.
Notably, three of these leaders are the first women to ever serve as superintendents in their district’s history, marking an important milestone and paving the way for future generations of educational leaders!

ECESC welcomed middle-level educators today for an engaging professional learning session with Melissa Gill. Participants explored practical ways to strengthen literacy instruction in grades 4–8 using the Science of Reading, gaining strategies to better support student growth and achievement.
It was especially fitting to host this session during Middle Level Educator Month, as we celebrate the educators who guide and inspire students during these critical years of learning and development.
