We’re proud to recognize several schools, educators, and programs across our region recently honored for their outstanding work in education, innovation, and workforce development!

🏆 Richmond Community Schools received the Digital Innovation and Leadership Award at the Indiana Educational Excellence Awards Gala, recognizing the district’s innovative use of technology to enhance teaching, learning, and student opportunities.

🏆 Kasey Brubaker of Union County College Corner Joint School District was recognized at the Gala as a 2026 and 2027 Indiana Teacher of the Year Finalist, celebrating excellence in teaching and a commitment to student success.

🏆 Eastern Hancock Schools and MicroCollaborative received the Excellence in Innovation Award for their forward-thinking approaches to creating meaningful learning opportunities for students.

🏆 New Castle/Henry Co. Adult Education earned the Indiana Department of Workforce Development’s Program of Excellence recognition, honoring the team's dedication to helping adult learners achieve their educational goals and prepare for new career opportunities.

These recognitions reflect the exceptional work happening throughout our region and the dedication of educators and leaders who continue to find new ways to support learners of all ages.

Today, Lora spent the day in Shelbyville hosting professional learning focused on Multi-Tiered Systems of Support, including student behavior. The morning focused on MTSS best practices and protocols for building effective support systems, while the afternoon explored strategies to address student behavior and create positive learning environments.

We're grateful for the opportunity to support educators in strengthening their practices and putting systems in place that help every student succeed!

During the recent FullScale Symposium in Indianapolis, Pat and Lindsey had the opportunity to learn alongside national education leaders and innovators. FullScale chose Indiana as this year’s host to highlight our high school redesign. Dr. Katie Jenner, Dr. George Philhower, and Eastern Hancock student Silas Frendenburg all graced the main stage to share perspectives on Indiana’s progress. Also, in a “Story of Learning” breakout session, Lindsey shared about the creation of Forge Your Future.

The session highlighted practical resources available through the statewide WBL Alliance to help superintendents and school board members align current experiences with new diploma requirements.
