Today is School Lunch Hero Day! ECESC recognizes the vital work of our school food service departments. We offer the Indiana School Food Co-Op, which aims to help schools save money and time while providing valuable support for those who feed our students every day.


ECESC hosted an American Heart Association CPR/AED Certification Training for educators this week. This certification is a licensure requirement and safety measure for schools. If you need to renew your certification, look for our next class in the fall!

Our own Lora Wilson spent her Saturday presenting at the Early Childhood Professional’s Summit, “Getting your early learners to SO(a)R," in Muncie. Lora shared a brief overview of the Science of Reading and strategies for establishing a solid foundation for reading success.


ECESC welcomed regional industry partners, education professionals, and EIW to Sunnyside today to discuss how, collectively, we can foster entry-level talent through focused work-based learning and apprenticeship opportunities tied to the high school diploma requirements. Exciting times ahead for ECI students!

The Indiana Literacy Cadre supports schools across the state in implementing evidence-based literacy practices aligned with the Science of Reading. The Cadre aims to improve reading instruction and outcomes. ECESC has supported over 50 schools who have participated in the cadre.


The East Central Indiana Superintendent Study Council met at ECESC this morning. Superintendents and district leaders gathered to discuss financial forecasting in light of new legislation. This discussion was led by financial consultants from Stifel Public Finance. The East Central Indiana School Trust consortium also met at ECESC today for their quarterly meeting. Through collaborative learning, cost savings, and operational efficiencies, ECESC strives to be a valuable resource and networking hub for all member districts.
